Starting in the spring of 2022, a group of SIM students began working together to produce the Studio for the Interrelated Media Majors All School Show.
This cohort grew over many SIM Thursday Classes, wherein each week the pozen center & 3 other SIM spaces would be completely transformed using light shows, music, and projections to facilitate communication between and entertain a class of 75 creatives at once.

Spurred on by professor Nita Situraile, Megan Ross and Kay Ehwa decided to start an Eventworks team for the coming 22-23 year - an annual group of SIM students known for creating concerts, imaginative performances, and art events since 1978.

Max Ryan, Henry Bamford, Kyra Stupik, Emmy Kelley, Megan Ross, Kay Ehwa, Owen Greenfield, and Onyx Raia pitched a timeline of nine possible events to the SIM major in March 2022, as well as a $10,000 budget for the Fall semester of events to MassArt's Student Government Association. Max Ryan and Henry Bamford chose not to continue on the team, as Tori Rego and Genesis Lara joined.

Proceeding with a budget of $8,000, the Eventworks 23 team sought a new plan to create the best events possible: sustainability, building community, and fundraising via diy and creative merchandising. Believing events should be accessible to all in the boston community, all Eventworks 23 events had no admissions fee.

Since 1983, the SIM major has had a Big Show, showcasing the talents of the majors many artists in the 3rd week of November. In 2022, after 38 years, Big Show passed on to the other side. In a grand display of emotion, skeletons, and finality, SIM has moved on to a new era of production.

In 1988, one piece of code brought the infantile stages of the internet to a stand-still - The Morris Worm. Now known as the world's first computer virus, this little bug ate the internet until 1990, when it was contained, placed on a floppy disk, and sealed behind glass, never to infect a computer again.
If you could code anything, what would you create? For Owen Greenfield and Max Ryan, the answer was clear.
In March of 2023, the Pozen Center was overtaken by a 25 ft behemoth of projection, four dimensional sound, and mosquito netting caging in its technical controls, obscuring anyone running tech from view behind a hologram of highly processed images.
Generated by a self-directed piece of code, a musical performance of noise, songs, and assorted stems was created on the spot.

Brian McCook, known internationally as Katya Zamolochikova, graduated from MassArt in 2003 from the Studio for
Interrelated Media. Dawn Kramer, Professor Emeritus and movement artist, encouraged Brian to develop the drag persona of Katya during his undergraduate studies. Professor Dana Moser arranged for Katya to have her premiere performance, and a star was born.
Returning to his Alma Mater, and the very stage his first performance ever occurred on, Brian fielded question from current massart students on life after art school, the political climate towards drag, the future of performing arts, and his art school experience and how MassArt, SIM, and professors such as Dawn Kramer, Dana Moser, and Nita Sturiale impacted his life & career.
Students laughed, cried, and even gifted ceramic teeth to Brian at this inspired artist talk & conversation between two old friends.
